About The Position

Operates automatic and semi-automatic brushes to cross-cut and miter metal. Sets up machines and works from drawings, sketches, and samples. The operator is responsible for checking part quality before passing parts to the next operation, reporting unsafe conditions, and maintaining a clean work area.

Requirements

• High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
• Ability to perform the described physical demands, including frequent hand use and reaching; standing; and lifting or moving items weighing up to 40 pounds.
• Required vision abilities include close, distance, and color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Wear safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety shoes.

Nice To Haves

• Previous manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install and secure wire brush attachments on the machine shaft using a wrench.
• Start the rotating wire brush by pushing the lever.
• Hold and turn products against the rotating brush, varying pressure to cut patterns on specified surfaces or deburr parts.
• Check part quality before forwarding parts to the next operation.
• Report unsafe conditions to the Supervisor or Management.
• Maintain cleanliness of the work area and contribute to general company housekeeping.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
