This role involves extensive cold calling to develop new accounts, analyzing existing supplier recycling programs to maximize recovery and yield, and building relationships with new and existing suppliers. The position requires gathering market intelligence and developing a commercial strategy for the Midwest marketplace. The Brokerage Representative will develop and present recycling proposals, conduct profitability analyses, negotiate purchase prices, and stay informed about market and supply trends. This role also involves working closely with the internal mill system to source OCC and with export and domestic sales systems to source supply for key customers. A clear understanding of customer businesses and requirements will be developed through frequent visits, and customer complaints will be handled promptly and effectively. The position also requires effective time and territory management and interfacing with other departments.
