About The Position

The Broiler Field Representative is primarily responsible for overseeing broiler farms as a Company representative to contracted growers. This role involves monitoring house conditions and bird welfare, providing technical assistance, and offering recommendations to improve conditions, grower performance, and reduce costs for both the company and growers. The representative acts as a liaison between the Company and contract growers, offering technical advice on company expectations, including building and equipment specifications, litter manipulation, farm sanitation, industry best practices, policies, procedures, and bio-security. Key duties also include providing chick placement, catch, and feed withdrawal times, monitoring assigned flocks for bird comfort and equipment settings to ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory guidelines, and federal/state laws, and reporting non-compliance. The position requires tracking, analyzing, and recording bird mortality rates, communicating anomalies, and maintaining feed tank inventories by ordering feed and coordinating deliveries. Additionally, the representative is expected to follow and promote all safety initiatives to maintain a zero-accident culture.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent and required experience or Associates degree in Poultry Science, Agricultural Science or related field
  • Minimum two (2) years’ live poultry experience in a similar environment
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements surrounding animal welfare and food production
  • Strong computer (i.e. Microsoft (Word, Excel, etc.) and math skills
  • Strong customer focus with the ability to communicate with internal and external customers in a timely and professional manner
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively communicate in English
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks while maintaining attention to detail
  • Self-starter who demonstrates strong initiative and sense of urgency, with the ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Must possess a strong customer-centric attitude, high energy level and a strong sense of urgency
  • Follow departmental and company safety policies and programs
  • Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times in areas where required
  • Read and understand MSDS sheets
  • Maintain updated knowledge and training/ certification on relevant safety topics
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs; occasionally required to lift overhead
  • Ability to travel between assigned locations

Responsibilities

  • Provide chick placement, catch and feed withdrawal times to growers
  • Monitor assigned flocks (i.e. bird comfort, equipment settings, etc.) to ensure producers comply with all company policies and procedures, regulatory guidelines and federal and State policies, regulations and laws when handling poultry; report noncompliance and/or abnormalities to appropriate personnel
  • Track, analyze and record bird mortality rates, communicating anomalies to appropriate personnel as needed
  • Maintain feed tank inventories ordering feed and coordinating deliveries to ensure proper feed is delivered to growers in a timely manner
  • Follow and promote all safety initiatives helping to maintain a zero accident culture
  • Perform additional relevant duties as assigned
