About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Broadcast Systems Engineer to design, integrate, commission, support, and evolve broadcast and media systems for live television, radio, studio production, contribution, and digital distribution. The role combines traditional broadcast engineering with modern IP media infrastructure, particularly SMPTE ST 2110, broadcast networking, IP routing, and system integration. It works across the full media signal chain and requires strong troubleshooting skills, technical curiosity, and collaboration with engineering, operations, IT/networking teams, and vendors.

Requirements

  • Professional experience in broadcast engineering, media technology, or systems integration.
  • Working knowledge of SMPTE ST 2110, IP-based broadcast routing, and traditional SDI/baseband infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of video formats, frame rates, standards conversion, synchronization, embedding/de-embedding, latency, buffering, and audio/video timing.
  • Knowledge of professional broadcast audio, including digital audio routing, consoles, IFB, mix-minus, and intercom systems.
  • Experience with virtualization and cloud platforms such as VMware, AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Ability to isolate complex issues across broadcast devices, IP networks, software, codecs, servers, cloud services, and transmission paths.
  • Ability to evaluate emerging technologies, build proofs of concept, and introduce solutions safely into highly available production environments.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and accountable, with the ability to work independently and collaborate across a global engineering organization.
  • Comfort working directly with vendors and balancing immediate production needs with long-term engineering objectives.
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly and manage multiple priorities in a live production environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Broadcast Technology, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline; equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of a formal degree.
  • Extensive hands-on broadcast engineering and systems integration experience may be considered in lieu of a formal degree.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, commission, maintain, and troubleshoot television, radio, studio, control room, remote production, and media distribution systems.
  • Support contribution and distribution workflows across studios, bureaus, cloud environments, and external partners, including OTT/HLS, SRT, Zixi, transcoding, packaging, captioning, and monitoring.
  • Troubleshoot issues spanning broadcast hardware, software, servers, networks, codecs, and control systems.
  • Develop installation plans, commissioning procedures, test plans, operational documentation, and engineering standards; create and maintain AutoCAD drawings and technical documentation.
  • Evaluate new technologies, conduct proofs of concept, manage vendor technical issues, and support system upgrades, migrations, facility builds, and major production events.
  • Improve system reliability, redundancy, monitoring, automation, and operational workflows while sharing technical knowledge across the engineering organization.
  • Support occasional off-hours maintenance, commissioning, and major production events.
