About The Position

We’re looking for a Broadcast IT Engineer to join our team at KTTC and KBJR. This isn't just about fixing computers; it’s about owning the digital backbone of our stations and ensuring our content reaches our audience across every platform, from the big screen to the smartphone.

Requirements

  • Deep understanding of VM systems and Windows Active Directory management.
  • Understanding of the inner workings of a broadcast facility and how IT integrates with A/V equipment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot computers down to the board level.
  • Understanding that serial and IP communication are the lifeblood of media.
  • Ability to thrive in high-stress situations and handle the physical demands of the job, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Associate’s Degree in Electronics, Computer Science, or a related field (or higher).
  • At least 2 years of experience with Windows OS, e-mail systems, FTP servers, and TCP/IP networking.
  • Team player who can work closely with Chief Engineers, Department Heads, and Corporate IT to get the job done.

Responsibilities

  • Install and maintain the computer systems and network infrastructure that power our daily operations.
  • Implement and maintain "crossover" systems that blend traditional Audio/Video with modern IT infrastructure.
  • Support and maintain the automation systems that keep our On-Air and Live Production running without a hitch.
  • Aid in the implementation of robust computer and network security policies to keep our data and broadcasts safe.
  • Manage software licensing and ensure all systems are updated and optimized for peak performance.
  • Act as one of the primary points of contact for corporate IT and help maintain our internal trouble ticket system, supporting everyone from News and Production to Sales.
  • Provide technical assistance for remote broadcasts, ensuring our team can deliver high-quality content from anywhere.
