About The Position
We are seeking a Broadcast Associate / Correspondent Assistant to join the CBS News team in Washington D.C.! The ideal candidate is a team player with a passion for news. They must have attention to detail and be able to prioritize and multi-task while sticking to strict deadlines. We are looking for someone with a positive attitude who is hungry to learn.
Requirements
- Extremely detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Handle confidential information with absolute discretion
- Must be a team player with a positive outlook
- Must have a valid U.S. driver’s license and passport
- Ability to balance priorities, multiple projects, and tasks, and act with urgency
- Exemplary written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Prior experience in a news setting is strongly preferred
Responsibilities
- Perform administrative duties, including maintaining calendars, coordinating travel, preparing expense reports, and overseeing the day-to-day needs of the anchor
- Conduct research for pieces and special reports as requested by Anchor, Senior Producer, and Producers.
- Manage social media accounts, such as pitching, shooting, editing, and producing across platforms
- Communicate professionally and discreetly with executives and talent
- Assist with long term project planning and story development
- Support coverage of breaking news and major events, which may include nights, weekends, and overnight hours
