Requirements

  • Solid understanding of the methods, materials, equipment, and techniques used in the extension, repair, and maintenance of fiber optic networks and conduit systems.
  • Familiarity with occupational hazards and safety precautions.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in decision-making and problem resolution.
  • Effective communication skills, both orally and in writing, for addressing inquiries or complaints.
  • Ability to operate necessary equipment.
  • Able to work effectively under pressure and stringent schedules and produce accurate and satisfactory results.
  • Able to communicate effectively, at all levels both orally and in writing.
  • Capable of working in a fast-paced environment and effectively managing tasks/projects.
  • Must be customer-service oriented, always have a customer friendly attitude.
  • Must pass a thorough criminal background check due to the sensitivity of the information handled by this position.

Responsibilities

  • Execution of construction tasks crucial for underground telecommunications cable and fiber placement.
  • Loading and delivering materials.
  • Operating various hand tools and mechanical equipment such as trenchers, mini excavators, and trenchless piercing tools.
  • Assisting team members in manual labor activities.
  • Contributing to site restoration efforts, ensuring high-quality standards are met.
  • Operating a utility trailer for transporting essential equipment and materials.
  • Completing administrative duties like closing work orders and uploading photos as directed by the Fiber Manager.
  • Running fiber and network cables as needed.
