Requirements

Solid understanding of the methods, materials, equipment, and techniques used in the extension, repair, and maintenance of fiber optic networks and conduit systems.
Familiarity with occupational hazards and safety precautions.
Ability to exercise sound judgment in decision-making and problem resolution.
Effective communication skills, both orally and in writing, for addressing inquiries or complaints.
Ability to operate necessary equipment.
Able to work effectively under pressure and stringent schedules and produce accurate and satisfactory results.
Able to communicate effectively, at all levels both orally and in writing.
Capable of working in a fast-paced environment and effectively managing tasks/projects.
Must be customer-service oriented, always have a customer friendly attitude.
Must pass a thorough criminal background check due to the sensitivity of the information handled by this position.

Responsibilities

Execution of construction tasks crucial for underground telecommunications cable and fiber placement.
Loading and delivering materials.
Operating various hand tools and mechanical equipment such as trenchers, mini excavators, and trenchless piercing tools.
Assisting team members in manual labor activities.
Contributing to site restoration efforts, ensuring high-quality standards are met.
Operating a utility trailer for transporting essential equipment and materials.
Completing administrative duties like closing work orders and uploading photos as directed by the Fiber Manager.
Running fiber and network cables as needed.
