About The Position

Great Plains Communications is seeking an experienced Broadband Technician to join our high-performing team. This role is responsible for the installation and repair of internet, phone, and TV services for business and residential customers. We are looking for a customer-focused professional with a strong technical background in fiber optic systems.

Requirements

1–7 years of relevant experience.
High school diploma or equivalent and a valid driver’s license.
Knowledge of basic electronics and troubleshooting.

Nice To Haves

fiber fusion splicing experience is a plus (training provided).

Responsibilities

Set up and troubleshoot residential and business services via fiber optic systems, including cable splicing and provisioning.
Interpret staking sheets, maps, and work orders; utilize testing equipment such as light meters and volt-ohm meters.
Act as a brand ambassador by promoting company services and providing exceptional local support.
Safely operate GPC vehicles (including bucket trucks), navigate crawl spaces/attics, and climb ladders as required.
Participate in an on-call rotation, including non-standard hours, weekends, and holidays to ensure network reliability.
