About The Position

At East Central Energy (ECE), our Broadband Engineering Supervisor leads the team responsible for keeping our fiber network running strong and ready for the future. This role is a blend of leadership, planning, and hands-on problem solving. In this role, you lead the Broadband Engineering team and help ensure our fiber network is safe, reliable, and built to support the future. Your day blends leadership, planning, and hands-on technical oversight.

Requirements

  • A two-year technical degree and experience in a telecommunications environment supporting fiber networks, plus five years of related experience, or a combination of education and experience.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to guide a team, build relationships, and manage priorities.
  • Comfort working with technical systems, solving problems, and keeping work moving forward.
  • Solid understanding of fiber networks and broadband systems.
  • Willingness to keep learning and improving.

Nice To Haves

  • JNCIA-Junos, JNCIS-SEC, and JNCIS-SP preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the Broadband Engineering team by coaching, supporting, and guiding them while building a strong, collaborative, and safety-focused environment.
  • Drive strategy and planning by executing department goals, evaluating new technologies, and contributing to budget and long-term planning efforts.
  • Oversee network performance by monitoring broadband systems, coordinating upgrades and repairs, and ensuring work meets safety and quality standards.
  • Provide technical leadership by acting as a key resource for the team, supporting engineering design, troubleshooting, and decision-making.
  • Collaborate across teams, including Operations and Information Technology, to keep systems integrated and running smoothly.
  • Support member and community awareness by potentially presenting information about fiber services and participating in member engagement efforts.
