At East Central Energy (ECE), our Broadband Engineering Supervisor leads the team responsible for keeping our fiber network running strong and ready for the future. In this role, you lead the Broadband Engineering team and help ensure our fiber network is safe, reliable, and built to support the future. Your day blends leadership, planning, and hands-on technical oversight. No two days are exactly the same, but your impact is consistent: supporting your team and ensuring ECE’s broadband network performs at a high level.

Requirements

  • A two-year technical degree and experience in a telecommunications environment supporting fiber networks, plus five years of related experience, or a combination of education and experience.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to guide a team, build relationships, and manage priorities.
  • Comfortable working with technical systems, solving problems, and keeping work moving forward.
  • Solid understanding of fiber networks and broadband systems, along with a willingness to keep learning and improving.

  • JNCIA-Junos, JNCIS-SEC, and JNCIS-SP preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Leading and developing your team: You’ll coach, support, and guide the broadband engineering team while building a strong, collaborative, and safety-focused environment.
  • Driving strategy and planning: You’ll help execute department goals, evaluate new technologies, and contribute to budget and long-term planning efforts.
  • Overseeing network performance: You’ll monitor broadband systems, coordinate upgrades and repairs, and ensure work meets safety and quality standards.
  • Providing technical leadership: You’ll act as a key resource for the team, supporting engineering design, troubleshooting, and decision-making.
  • Collaborating across teams: You’ll work with Operations, Information Technology, and other departments to keep systems integrated and running smoothly.
  • Supporting member and community awareness: You may help present information about fiber services and participate in member engagement efforts.
