As a Bridge Engineer-in-Training, you will assist in designing highway and pedestrian bridge projects, coordinating with engineers, designers, technicians, and CADD personnel. You will participate in bridge inspections for routine and complex structures, and prepare and review reports, designs, preliminary and final plans, technical specifications, contract documents, and estimates. You will also collect and analyze data relevant to bridge design and inspections, perform structural engineering design calculations and investigative analyses, develop finite element models for complex bridges and structures, and conduct bridge load rating analysis and compile related reports. Additionally, you will assist with quantity calculations and cost estimating for bridge projects, and communicate and interact with project team members, clients, review agencies, and other stakeholders, assisting in resolving complex issues such as conflicting design requirements or coordination challenges.
