Benesch is growing, and our North Carolina Structural team is looking for an experienced Structural Bridge Engineer ready to take the next step in their career as a Technical Manager. This role offers the opportunity to stay close to the technical work you enjoy while taking on greater influence across projects, teams, and the growth of our practice. You’ll lead and contribute to the planning and design of transportation structures, serve as a technical resource for project teams, and mentor engineers as they develop their skills and careers. Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a Structural focus
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in North Carolina
• 10+ years of structural engineering experience with a transportation focus
• Advanced knowledge of structural engineering software, codes, standards, and design practices
• Proficiency in MicroStation
• Proven ability to mentor and develop technical staff
• Strong technical, communication, and problem-solving skills

Nice To Haves

• Experience with 3D bridge modeling preferred
• Experience with Construction Engineering services preferred

Responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to the planning, analysis, and design of transportation structures and bridge projects
• Serve as a technical leader and trusted resource for project teams and staff
• Provide technical direction on analysis, design approaches, software, assumptions, and project solutions
• Perform and review structural analysis and design while maintaining responsibility for quality and completeness
• Mentor and develop engineers by sharing technical knowledge and helping them grow their capabilities
• Partner with Project Managers to identify technical challenges, communicate progress, and keep projects moving
• Support quality control and ensure designs meet applicable standards, project requirements, and client expectations
• Provide technical expertise across a variety of projects and serve as a subject matter expert within the discipline
• Contribute ideas and expertise to help grow and strengthen the North Carolina Structural practice
