About The Position

The Carpenter I will work on construction projects, constructing, installing, and repairing structures made of wood, plywood, and wallboard. The role works closely with crew members and subcontractors to help ensure projects are completed to a high standard of quality.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in carpentry is preferred.
At least 3 years of experience in carpentry; experience in a construction setting is preferred.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
Strong communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences.
Strong analytical skills, including the ability to analyze project data and identify trends and opportunities for improvement.

Nice To Haves

Vocational training in carpentry.
Experience in a construction setting.
Experience with government contracts and compliance.

Responsibilities

Build, install, and repair structures made of wood, plywood, and wallboard.
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the scope of work.
Measure, mark, and cut materials to the required size and shape.
Install windows, frames, flooring, and trim using hand and power tools.
Install cabinets, counters, and molding.
Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard of quality.
Communicate regularly with crew members and subcontractors to help complete work on schedule and within budget.
Develop and maintain relationships with crew members and subcontractors so they are aware of project schedules and deadlines.
Identify and resolve issues that arise during construction projects.
Perform other duties as assigned.
