About The Position

Archer Wright JV is seeking a Bridge Carpenter for the TSENC/I-26 Downtown Connector project in Asheville, North Carolina. The Bridge Carpenter constructs, erects, and installs structures made of wood, plywood, wallboard, and other materials using carpentry hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machines. Work is performed on commercial, industrial, or heavy civil jobsites. The position may involve climbing and balancing on scaffolds or ladders, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working in adverse weather. Requirements

Ability to climb and maintain balance on scaffolds or ladders.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and potentially work in adverse weather conditions.
Ability to comply with safety policies and procedures.
Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors to help ensure projects are completed properly.
Strong work ethic and desire to learn.
Good manual dexterity; ability to stand, bend, kneel, or sit for long periods.

Nice To Haves

3–5 years of verifiable experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Measure distances and mark guidelines on working surfaces to prepare for work.
Prepare, build, and install wooden structures in line with prefabricated units to form bridges, drain structures, walls, and other structures.
May assist with installing awnings and metal decking for concrete slabs if decking is removed.
Use a carpenter’s belt with carpentry hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery.
