About The Position
Parsons is seeking motivated engineering students for a Summer 2027 Bridge Engineering Internship in its Seattle office. The intern will gain exposure to producing drawings and calculations for the design of highway and rail bridge structures. This position is part of Parsons’ Critical Infrastructure team, which works collaboratively to plan, design, build, and modernize infrastructure that connects and protects communities.
Requirements
- Must be enrolled in a Civil Engineering curriculum at an accredited college or university.
Nice To Haves
- Proficiency in CAD software such as MicroStation or AutoCAD.
- Working knowledge of structural analysis software.
- Completed coursework such as structural analysis, steel or concrete design, or geotechnical engineering.
Responsibilities
- Use CAD to prepare engineering plans, sections, and details based on sketches and other general design information.
- Compile data and perform dimensional and routine calculations required to prepare drawings.
- Become familiar with applicable standards and codes.
- Apply codes to check design compliance with applicable criteria.
