About The Position

Benesch is hiring a Structural Designer to join its Franklin or Nashville office. The role offers the opportunity to design a range of vehicular and pedestrian bridges, from simple to complex. The position works on a hybrid schedule and involves completing structural design tasks independently under the guidance of a Project Manager.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis or a related discipline.
• EI credential or ability to obtain it.
• 0 to 2+ years of structural design experience.
• Excellent communication and client-relations skills.
• Progressive experience developing plans and specifications using MicroStation.
• Strong organization and leadership skills, with a track record of adhering to design budgets and schedules.
• Ability to perform complex analysis and design.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with TDOT.
• Experience with MicroStation.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic analysis of project elements.
• Develop loads and prepare design calculations for project elements; check work.
• Prepare organized structural calculations.
• Design and draft structural elements and details.
• Develop task deliverables in a complete and reviewable manner.
• Perform assigned tasks on schedule and within budget.
• Work independently under the guidance of a Project Manager.
• Assemble complete design packages for assigned elements or projects.
