About The Position

Brewistas help deliver the company’s mission to “Inspire a community of kindness through a revolutionary coffee experience.” Reporting to the stand manager, a Brewista creates positive interactions with customers, teammates, and vendors while preparing drinks, taking orders and payments, and keeping the coffee stand clean, stocked, and productive. The role includes preparing premixed flavors and teas, learning the menu well enough to assist customers with recommendations, and completing shift-change duties, checklists, and weekly chores. Brewistas are expected to work with urgency, maintain a safe and sanitary environment, and be ready at their assigned position when their shift begins. The position requires a flexible schedule with a minimum of three shifts per week. Shifts may be four, five, or seven hours and can include day, night, weekday, and weekend work. Regular weekend work is required, and holiday availability may be necessary. The physical setting is a coffee shop, with work outdoors for prolonged periods regardless of weather conditions.

Requirements

Able to create and maintain genuine, uplifting interactions with strangers for up to five minutes at a time.
Able to work carefully and quickly with hot water, coffee, glass bottles, and dairy products.
Able to work outdoors for prolonged periods in any weather conditions.
Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Able to stand comfortably for hours at a time.
Able to climb a ladder and use a stepladder.
Able to stand, sit, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to stock and clean the stand.
Able to walk safely between and around cars in the drive-thru line.
Able to use a utility knife safely.
Available to work a minimum of three shifts per week on a flexible schedule.
Regularly available to work weekends and available to work holidays if necessary.

Responsibilities

Confirm customers’ drink orders and enter them correctly into the point-of-sale system.
Collect payments and accurately count back change.
Prepare drinks and premixes.
Work with urgency and remain productive and proactive throughout each shift, including during slow periods.
Build genuine, positive connections with customers through warm interactions and welcoming body language.
Know the menu and help customers identify and order the drinks they want, offering suggestions and recommendations when appropriate.
Dress appropriately for the assigned position and arrive clocked in and ready to work at the assigned position when the shift begins.
Know and carry out shift-change duties, checklists, and weekly chores as needed.
Treat teammates and customers with respect and kindness.
Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following organization standards and sanitation regulations.
Follow company procedures for communicating time-off requests.
