About The Position

The Department of Radiology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Medicine and Public Health is seeking a dynamic Breast Imaging Radiologist for a Tenure Track position at the Assistant, Associate, or Professor rank. The ideal candidate will be a recognized leader in artificial intelligence and population health focused breast imaging research, with a proven record of securing extramural funding (e.g., NIH R01). Strong expertise in research strategy, mentorship, and professional development is essential. The UW Breast Center, accredited by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers, treats over 700 new breast cancer patients annually and collaborates closely with breast surgeons. The department features multidisciplinary tumor boards, weekly radiology-pathology correlation conferences, and a new state-of-the-art outpatient clinic that opened in Fall 2024. The breast imaging section actively trains three to four breast imaging fellows and numerous residents each year. This is a full-time (100%) position that may involve both in-person and remote work, and requires a caregiver check due to access to vulnerable populations.

Requirements

WI Medical license by the start date of the position.
Board-certified or board eligible in American Board of Radiology (ABR) by the start date of the position.
Completion of a Diagnostic Radiology Residency.
Completion of a breast-imaging fellowship training including mammography, ultrasound, and breast MRI and image-guided breast biopsies by start date of position.
MD, DO, or equivalent required start date.

For an appointment at Associate Professor or Professor rank on tenure track, candidates will meet criteria established by the department and as outlined in the UW Divisional Committee guidelines for promotion or appointment to Associate or Professor on the tenure track.

Responsibilities

Interpreting and reporting image studies and/or image-guided procedures within the Breast Imaging section.
Performing clinical activities and participating in on-call duties.
Participating in the teaching efforts of the breast imaging section and the department of radiology, including lectures, conferences, and clinical assignments.
Training residents, fellows, and medical students.
Supporting education opportunities in research career development for trainees and faculty.
Establishing an independent multidisciplinary research group.
Collaborating with AI and population health researchers from other Departments and Schools within UW.
