About The Position

The Breakfast Server is responsible for the service of food and/or beverages, including taking orders and delivering items in accordance with Hilton Brand Standards and AAA Standards. This role requires a friendly, courteous, helpful, timely, and professional approach to ensure a high level of guest satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation, service standards, guest relations, and etiquette.
  • Knowledge of appropriate table settings, service ware, and menu items.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak the English language sufficiently to understand menus, special promotions, record orders, and communicate with guests.
  • Ability to remember, recite, and promote the variety of menu items.
  • Ability to operate beverage and toast equipment.
  • Ability to operate a keyboard and learn point of sale procedures.
  • Must obtain any government-required licenses or certificates.
  • RAMP certification within 30 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Six (6) months to one-year previous serving experience preferred.
  • Prior hospitality experience preferred.
  • SERVSAFE is a plus or training related to HACCP.

Responsibilities

  • Check station before, during and after shift for proper set-up and cleanliness.
  • Greet guests in a friendly and courteous manner and explain any specials and/or restaurant promotions.
  • Record guest orders, repeating them back for accuracy.
  • Input orders into the point-of-sale computer to inform the kitchen.
  • Retrieve orders from the kitchen, confirm accuracy, and deliver to guests with appropriate condiments.
  • Abide by all state, federal, and corporate liquor regulations.
  • Replenish beverages as necessary and check with guests for overall satisfaction.
  • Market and serve dessert items or specialty coffees upon request.
  • Ascertain guest satisfaction and present checks, processing them per hotel procedures.
  • Perform general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products.
  • Supplement bus help in clearing and resetting tables.
  • Perform assigned side work, including replenishing condiments and restocking side stands.
  • Answer telephones and take room service orders.
  • Handle special guest requests.
  • Greet and seat guests according to Hilton guidelines.
  • Be directly responsible for delivery of service to guests after seating, warmly welcoming them within 30 seconds to 1 minute.
  • Take, place, deliver, and serve food & beverage orders.
  • Ensure quality of ingredients, preparation, presentation, and correct temperature of food served.
  • Ensure time standards are met.
  • Employ appropriate selling skills in suggestions of food & beverage.
  • Demonstrate an attitude of friendly hospitality.
  • Attend required meetings.
  • Assimilate into the Hilton Family Pride/Care culture.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of service standards.
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance.
