About The Position

The Breakfast Host is responsible for maintaining and promoting hospitality while welcoming and serving hotel guests in a courteous, efficient, and friendly manner. As guests’ first point of contact in the morning, the Breakfast Host helps ensure a positive start to their day. The role includes preparing and maintaining the breakfast area, stocking food and supplies throughout service, clearing tables, and upholding cleanliness, organization, and food-safety standards.

The position also requires responding promptly and empathetically to guest requests, learning the hotel’s staff, room locations, amenities, and local area, and completing other related tasks assigned by a manager. The employee must be able to begin work by 5:00 a.m. and be open to cross-training and assisting other departments as needed.

Requirements

• Strong customer-service skills, including the ability to multitask.
• Must be able to begin work by 5:00 a.m.
• Outgoing and engaging manner when interacting with guests.
• Ability to cook and prepare food to a high standard for morning breakfast.
• Approved food handlers certificate required.
• Open to cross-training and assisting in other departments as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Provide the highest quality of service to customers at all times.
• Welcome and serve guests in a courteous, efficient, and friendly manner.
• Set up and break down the breakfast area, including properly storing or disposing of leftover food.
• Clear tables and maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen and dining area.
• Keep food items stocked, organized, and maintained during breakfast.
• Maintain organization and food-safety standards in food-storage areas.
• Promptly, effectively, and empathetically assist with guest requests.
• Develop knowledge of hotel staff, room locations, and amenities.
• Be knowledgeable about local shopping, entertainment, and dining.
• Complete other related tasks assigned by a manager.
• Cross-train and assist in other departments as necessary.
