About The Position

The Settlers Inn is a historic inn in Hawley, Pennsylvania, aiming to provide a superlative guest experience. We are seeking a breakfast cook to prepare high-quality, homemade breakfast for our guests. The Breakfast Cook is responsible for reproducing Sayre Mansions recipes for breakfast items to exact specifications and for creating new breakfast dishes. We have built a reputation for impeccable breakfast offerings, and a successful candidate will be able to maintain that reputation. A successful candidate is also able to start work in the early morning hours, as is typical for a restaurant breakfast operation. The breakfast cook works closely with our hotel management team and has the opportunity to be part of a talented team of hospitality professionals.

Requirements

• High school diploma or high school equivalency diploma preferred
• One year of relevant experience
• Knowledge of food safety and handling requirements
• Excellent customer service skills
• Effective oral and written skills
• Good time management skills
• Professional dress, speech, and behavior
• Able to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and lift heavy objects as needed
• Able to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays

Nice To Haves

• Formal culinary training is highly desired

Responsibilities

• Prepares breakfast following established recipes and procedures and maintains a high quality and consistent product
• Follows safety and sanitation rules and practices
• Cleans work areas and all equipment used in food preparation
• Monitors product levels and re-stocks as required, rotating goods to reduce shrinkage
• Orders product from approved vendors to maintain inventory
• Controls purchases to adhere to food cost budget
