About The Position
Language Trainers, an international language training company founded in 2004, is seeking a freelance Brazilian Portuguese teacher for a client in Yonkers, United States. The role involves providing customized language training to two students (ages 17 and 10) with a lower intermediate/intermediate level. The course is general Portuguese, with one-to-one lessons scheduled back-to-back. The total hours are 30, with each session lasting 1.5 hours (two 45-minute lessons). The lessons will take place at the client's home in Yonkers, 10580. The preferred schedule is Wednesday or Thursday after school, between 3 and 7 pm. The motivation for the lessons is to continue conversational Portuguese learned during a previous year-long stay in Brazil. The position starts in early September.
Requirements
- Native Brazilian Portuguese speaker and/or hold a relevant teaching qualification.
- Experience as a language teacher, translator, or interpreter.
- Have a valid work permit/visa.
- Live within 20 miles of Yonkers, 10580.
- Be available to teach on Wednesdays or Thursdays between 3 and 7 pm.
- Be able to start in early September.
- Submit a CV with references (if available).
