About The Position

Demetres, a premier dessert destination in Toronto founded in 1989 with 12 restaurant locations, 5 ice cream boutiques, and a growing retail CPG presence, is seeking a Marketing Manager. This role will oversee the marketing function for Demetres, Scooped by Demetres, and their CPG retail line. Reporting directly to leadership, the Marketing Manager will collaborate with a growing team and external creative partners to plan, execute, and measure various marketing initiatives, including seasonal campaigns, limited-time offers, influencer activations, and SEO. This is a high-ownership role where the individual will set the content calendar, manage brand voice, and act as the in-house authority on guest engagement across all platforms.

Requirements

  • 4–7 years of marketing experience
  • At least 2 years in a leadership or strategy role
  • Strong creative instincts balanced with an analytical approach to campaign performance
  • Experience with graphic design, an eye for visual identity
  • Experience with social media strategy and content production for Instagram and TikTok
  • Familiarity with local SEO, Google Business Profile management, and digital advertising platforms (Meta Ads, Google Ads)
  • Experience managing or mentoring junior team members
  • Access to reliable transportation to visit restaurant locations and attend off-site events
  • Flexibility to occasionally work weekends and evenings depending on natural business needs

Responsibilities

  • Develop and own the annual marketing strategy across Demetres restaurants, Scooped by Demetres, and CPG grocery ice cream.
  • Lead seasonal and campaign-level creative briefs from concept through execution, ensuring on-brand storytelling.
  • Maintain and evolve distinct brand identities for Demetres and Scooped.
  • Identify and execute earned media opportunities, including press pitches, partnership activations, and collaborations.
  • Oversee the content calendar across Instagram, TikTok, and emerging platforms for both brands.
  • Direct and collaborate with internal and external marketing resources on photo, video, and copy production.
  • Build and manage an influencer and UGC program by identifying partners, briefing visits, and leveraging content.
  • Own local SEO strategy across Google Business Profiles for all Demetres and Scooped locations.
  • Drive website content strategy, including landing pages, FAQs, and seasonal campaign pages.
  • Oversee digital ad campaigns (Meta, TikTok, Google) and paid influencer placements, managing KPIs, budgets, and performance reporting.
  • Identify SEO and AEO whitespace opportunities and develop content to capture high-intent local search traffic.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations and R&D to align marketing with business priorities.
  • Work with the in-store management team to drive local store marketing.
  • Manage external vendors, including photographers, designers, and agencies.
  • Report on marketing performance to leadership with clear metrics and strategic recommendations.
