About The Position

WebPros is seeking a Brand Manager for the Comet Backup platform to own its positioning, messaging, and go-to-market strategy. This role is crucial for clearly articulating Comet Backup's value proposition in the competitive backup and data protection market. The Brand Manager will translate technical capabilities into compelling narratives for IT service providers, MSPs, and hosting partners, and will be responsible for bringing new platform capabilities to market, refining competitive positioning, and enabling internal teams to win and retain customers.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in Product Marketing, ideally in B2B SaaS
  • Proven experience marketing technical platforms to technical and semi-technical buyers
  • Strong familiarity with MSPs, IT service providers, or infrastructure software (backup, DR, security, cloud, or hosting)
  • Demonstrated ability to build positioning, messaging, and enablement assets that actually get adopted and used
  • Clear, concise written and verbal communication — especially when explaining complex systems to diverse audiences

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with backup, data protection, or MSP channel-led go-to-market motions
  • Familiarity with partner/channel ecosystems and reseller dynamics
  • Experience influencing product roadmap decisions with market and customer insights

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary custodian of the Comet Backup brand, ensuring consistency, clarity, and differentiation across all touchpoints.
  • Develop and evolve Comet’s core positioning, value propositions, and messaging across product areas including endpoints, workloads, storage targets, and security.
  • Build messaging frameworks that adapt for technical buyers, business owners, and channel partners, and hold across the full platform.
  • Act as the internal brand evangelist, ensuring every team can clearly articulate what Comet does and why it matters.
  • Work alongside the Product Manager in shaping the product roadmap, sharing feature recommendations, and influencing prioritization decisions.
  • Feed market intelligence, customer feedback, and competitive insights into roadmap conversations.
  • Own and drive go-to-market launches, partnering with Product and Sales to turn new features and releases into compelling launch stories and customer value.
  • Decide communications strategy across channels (emails, blog, social media), ensuring consistency in messaging and timing.
  • Collaborate with Growth, Digital, and Content teams to build campaigns grounded in customer pain points.
  • Own the distribution channel strategy, deciding what and when to communicate to partners to maximize channel-led growth.
  • Partner closely with the Sales team to understand the pipeline, support product pitching to key partners, and ensure messaging lands effectively.
  • Lead the creation of sales and partner enablement assets, such as battlecards, competitive positioning, objection-handling frameworks, and partner value decks.
  • Ensure enablement assets are grounded in field feedback and continuously updated.
  • Work with the data team to build relevant dashboards for ongoing reporting and reference for brand and commercial performance.
  • Establish repeatable feedback loops between Sales, Customer Success, and Product to keep messaging rooted in market reality.
