About The Position

This role is within the Global Channel Development team, which leads marketing and innovation for Starbucks products delivered in channels outside of Starbucks retail coffeehouses. The position focuses on the North American Coffee Partnership (NACP), a 30+ year partnership with Pepsi that has produced ready-to-drink (RTD) beverages like Frappuccino, Coffee & Protein, and Doubleshot Energy. The role involves shaping the future of this $2B+ business by leading the development and commercialization of the next generation of RTD beverage innovation. The Senior Brand Manager will define growth strategies for iconic Starbucks brands, translate coffeehouse experiences into RTD formats, and identify new growth opportunities. The role operates within a collaborative joint venture, combining PepsiCo's expertise with Starbucks' brand equity and quality commitment. The ideal candidate is passionate, strategic, and consumer-centric, focused on developing breakthrough innovation platforms for sustainable growth.

Requirements

  • Progressive experience in brand management, innovation, consumer packaged goods, marketing, or related fields. (6-10 years)
  • Strong human-centered design and test/learn experience.
  • Experience leading end-to-end innovation projects from concept through commercialization.
  • Demonstrated success developing brand and portfolio growth strategies.
  • Experience managing, coaching, and developing team members.
  • Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and business acumen.
  • Excellence in influencing and collaborating across complex cross-functional organizations.
  • Ability to synthesize consumer, customer, competitive, and marketplace insights into actionable business strategies.
  • Experience presenting recommendations and influencing decisions with senior leadership.
  • Passion for innovation, consumer understanding, and delivering exceptional brand experiences.
  • 3 or more years of experience in a role in marketing, brand management or product management.
  • 3 or more years of experience in a role leading the development of new or existing products or strategies from conception to implementation.
  • 3 years or more years of experience leading teams, especially geographically dispersed.
  • Bachelor’s degree or four years of US military experience in a related MOS/C.

Responsibilities

  • Lead innovation strategy and portfolio development: Drive the 3-5 year innovation roadmap by identifying growth opportunities through consumer insights, market trends, and business needs. Shape a portfolio of innovation initiatives that support long-term brand and category growth.
  • Lead breakthrough innovation from concept to commercialization: Oversee a portfolio of innovation projects, guiding teams through concept development, consumer validation, product formulation, packaging, and launch execution to deliver meaningful consumer and business impact.
  • Develop and lead a high-performing team: Manage and develop Brand Managers, providing coaching, mentorship, and leadership to build a high-performing innovation organization. Foster a culture of consumer-centric thinking, accountability, collaboration, and continuous development while helping team members expand their strategic and leadership capabilities.
  • Influence business and commercial strategy: Partner closely with marketing, sales, insights, R&D, finance, and PepsiCo counterparts to shape portfolio priorities, customer strategies, consumer messaging, and go-to-market plans. Ensure innovation plans align with broader business objectives and support sustainable category growth.
  • Drive cross-functional leadership and executive influence: Serve as a key leader across Starbucks and PepsiCo, bringing teams together around a shared vision and influencing decisions among senior stakeholders. Lead complex discussions, navigate ambiguity, and build alignment to advance innovation priorities across a highly matrixed organization.
