About The Position

The Professional Education Brand Manager (Centers of Excellence) leads and executes the strategic direction, vision and creative standards for external communications, professional education initiatives, and marketing efforts in support of the university’s broader goals. This role plays a key part in driving strategic growth and operational efficiency within the professional education unit, supporting evidence-based decision-making, strategic planning, and continuous improvement. The role also provides strategic marketing and communications support for professional education centers and Centers of Excellence, helping elevate program visibility, strengthen brand alignment, and advance unit-specific goals. This role collaborates closely with marketing, multimedia, information technology, news, and social media teams across the university to ensure alignment and impact.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Area of Concentration: Communications field such as public relations, marketing or other related areas.
  • Five years of progressively responsible relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Relevant experience in multiple specialty areas (e.g., aviation/aerospace); ability to work collaboratively with other communications professionals including writers, editors, graphic designers, web designers/developers, photographers and video production professionals.
  • Exceptionally strong oral and written communications skills, including editing and writing experience across long- and short-form print, web, video and social media pieces and other platforms.
  • Strong understanding of social media's power, including current and future trends that may impact our messaging.
  • Strong project management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • High-level understanding of and experience with communications strategy and branding, especially as they relate to higher education.
  • Great project management skills to direct and guide colleagues in a fast-paced environment with simultaneous complex projects and multiple deadlines to deliver excellence on time.
  • Significant experience working on a wide variety of communications projects including digital and print magazines and newsletters.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard publishing tools such as Adobe InDesign, Canva, Photoshop and Sitecore, Microsoft Office suite, Hootsuite, etc.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in a communications field such as public relations, marketing, or other related areas.
  • Expertise in multiple specialty communications areas (design, writing, marketing, communications strategy, branding, etc.).
  • Experience conducting communications and marketing work at an institution of higher education.

Responsibilities

  • Based on input from leadership, write compelling content for annual reports or magazines and identify photography to support the report’s message; collaborate with design and production colleagues to ensure a high-quality deliverable that has an Embry-Riddle-brand consistency.
  • Contribute strategic content to Professional Education Centers social media accounts (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter), in support of Embry-Riddle’s SIT goals.
  • Partner with stakeholders to plan, write and send electronic communications to diverse audiences.
  • Regularly update and maintain web pages to ensure content is current, accurate and engaging. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather relevant information and highlight achievements, research and events. Utilize best practices for SEO and web accessibility to enhance user experience and drive traffic.
  • Work with stakeholders to identify stories of interest to reporters. Recommend content for external and internal deployment by the Embry-Riddle News Team.
  • Provide promotion plans for speaker series or special events.
  • Coordinate with marketing colleagues to ensure alignment and consistency of branding graphics and value proposition statements.
  • Works directly with stakeholders to develop external marketing and communication initiatives, ensuring that these efforts not only contribute to success but are also aligned with the strategic vision and distinctive brand of the University.
  • Develops a robust and data-driven understanding of the center’s target audiences and influencers that is relative to the attitudes, opinions and behaviors that drive levels of positive engagement and revenue impact by core stakeholders.
  • Creates marketing and communications programs and initiatives to address short- and long-term opportunities and needs, within specified timelines and within available resources.
  • Utilizes a broad set of channels - including email and social media - to design and execute strategies and data-informed tactics that increase brand awareness.
  • Collaborates with the Marketing team (s) to design themes and tone for publications, annual report, event marketing and other publications related to major initiatives.
  • Writes original material for publication via articles, reports, newsletters, etc.
  • Writes or edits all high-profile content and pieces for style as well as tone and structure.
  • Confers with stakeholders regarding articles, reports, newsletters, etc.
  • Collaborates with the News, Development, Multimedia, Social Media and Web teams to provide newsworthy information for distribution across appropriate channels.
  • Manages all critical projects and leads or supervises project teams responsible for wide-reaching impact or high-profile assignments.
  • Establishes and oversees project timelines.
