About The Position

The District Credit Union is looking for a creative, outgoing, and community-minded Brand & Community Strategist to bring our brand to life online and throughout the communities we serve. This is more than a social media position. You'll be our digital storyteller, content creator, and community ambassador, finding the people, moments, and stories that show what makes The District Credit Union different. If you enjoy creating content, staying ahead of social media trends, connecting with people, and getting involved in the community, this could be the role for you!

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 1-3 years of experience in social media, marketing, communications, content creation, public relations, or community engagement preferred
  • Experience creating social media content, photography, video, or digital storytelling
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with major social media platforms and content trends
  • Basic photo/video editing experience preferred
  • Ability to work occasional evenings, weekends, or community events as needed
  • Reliable transportation for community events and outreach activities
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required

Responsibilities

  • Create engaging photography, short-form videos, interviews, behind-the-scenes content, employee features, member stories, educational content, and community-focused content
  • Develop and maintain a 30-day social media content calendar and create consistent content across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and emerging platforms
  • Monitor social media engagement, trends, and audience activity to identify opportunities for timely and relevant content
  • Work with the Marketing Director to turn campaigns and organizational priorities into compelling digital content
  • Support internal and external events, school partnerships, financial wellness workshops, community initiatives, and outreach activities
  • Capture photos, videos, stories, and other content at events and community activities
  • Represent The District Credit Union professionally at community events, networking opportunities, school functions, and volunteer activities
  • Support relationships with schools, nonprofits, local businesses, chambers, and other community organizations
  • Assist with financial wellness workshops, classroom presentations, Bite of Reality simulations, and other educational programs
  • Maintain an organized library of approved photos, videos, testimonials, and other digital assets
