Branch Operations Intern
About The Position
Republic Finance is seeking college juniors or seniors for its Branch Operations internship program, intended for students majoring in Business, Finance, or a related field. Interns learn the daily functions of a branch and gain exposure to the broader organization and its career opportunities. They work alongside team members and leaders to develop practical experience in the company’s sales and customer service approach, compliance, loan closing, leadership, and branch operations improvement projects involving other departments. The program also introduces interns to company initiatives and potential career paths. Interns receive licensing preparation and an accelerated version of the Assistant Branch Manager Program. They assist with loan origination, processing, closings, and fundings; spend time learning from a Manager and Regional Vice President; and may attend regional meetings or workshops. They also learn about corporate roles where branch experience is valued and receive an overview of company benefits. The position is 100% onsite and pays $15.00 per hour. Republic Finance aims to offer full-time employment after successful completion of the program, with employment starting after graduation.
Requirements
- Must be a college junior or senior majoring in Business, Finance, or a related field.
- Must be able to work a minimum of 18–20 hours per week.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Eager to learn, enthusiastic, reliable, and have a strong work ethic.
- Must meet acceptable standards for criminal background history and credit history and pass a pre-employment drug screen.
- Must meet eligibility requirements for insurance licensing to sell voluntary insurance products; eligibility is based on a criminal background check conducted by the state’s department of insurance.
Responsibilities
- Learn the daily functions and operations of a branch and the broader organization.
- Learn the Republic Way sales and customer service approach, compliance, loan closing, and leadership practices.
- Become licensed and complete an accelerated version of the Assistant Branch Manager Program, including loan-process and regulatory training.
- Assist with daily loan origination, processing, closings, and fundings, including allocating files for document preparation, auditing closed files, and preparing files for funding.
- Learn about responsibilities at the Manager and Regional Vice President levels and the promotional path at Republic Finance.
- Attend regional meetings and/or workshops when available during the internship.
- Learn about one or more Branch Operations process improvement projects.
- Learn about corporate roles such as Audit, Compliance, Training, and Recruiting.
- Receive an overview of company benefits during the program.
