About The Position

The Branch Manager leads and manages the daily operations of the branch, ensuring the delivery of high-quality member services, the achievement of sales goals, and the maintenance of operational excellence. This role involves leading, mentoring, coaching, and developing a team, fostering a positive work environment, setting performance goals, and ensuring exceptional service delivery to all members. The manager will also oversee daily branch operations, manage budgets, develop strategic plans for growth, and ensure adherence to all credit union policies and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business or finance related field preferred, MBA a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a financial institution, with at least two years in a leadership or management role.
  • Advanced knowledge of financial products, services, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proven ability to manage and develop high performing teams.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and member service skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Community-oriented with a passion for member service and engagement.
  • Advanced consumer loan underwriting understanding.
  • Ability to attain and continue NMLS certification.
  • Ability to frequently move within the branch to interact with members and staff.
  • Occasional lifting and moving of office supplies, up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment.
  • Visual and auditory ability to respond to interact with members and employees.
  • Capability to travel for meetings and community events as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, coach, and develop a team of Member Advisors and an Assistant Manager.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive work environment, promoting teamwork, accountability, and professional growth.
  • Set performance goals, conduct regular check-ins, and implement development plans for staff.
  • Proactively interact with members to form relationships of trust.
  • Work collaboratively and clearly communicate with cross-functional teams to resolve member questions and discrepancies and to provide effective problem resolution.
  • Ensure exceptional service delivery to all members, addressing their financial needs and providing personalized solutions.
  • Resolve complex member issues and complaints promptly and effectively.
  • Encourage the promotion and cross-selling of credit union products and services to meet member’s needs and achieve branch sales goals.
  • Able to assist members with all transaction, account, and loan requests.
  • Oversee daily branch operations, including security and compliance with credit union policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide operational guidance and approvals in order to allow branch employees to effectively provide service to members.
  • Monitor and manage branch budgets, expenses, and financial performance.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to grow branch membership, deposits, and loan portfolios.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with local businesses, community organizations, and other stakeholders to promote the credit union and identify growth opportunities.
  • Work with the Relationship Development department to conduct outreach and participate in community events to enhance the Westmark’s presence and reputation.
  • Coach and develop team members to provide excellent member service and effective sales skills.
  • Encourage a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
  • Provide learning and growth opportunities and hold employees accountable.
  • Ensure adherence to all credit union policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Risk Management department to identify and mitigate potential risks.
  • Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard credit union assets.
