About The Position

The Branch Inventory Manager is responsible for driving smart inventory decisions, shaping branch inventory strategy, owning inventory performance, and leading inventory operations. This role involves analyzing inventory trends, forecasting, collaborating with sales and leadership, managing replenishment, and overseeing inventory control processes to ensure optimal inventory levels and efficiency.

  • Product and industry knowledge
  • Able to travel by car and/or plane overnight
  • At least 4 years of experience specifically with inventory management
  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience

Responsibilities

  • Analyze inventory trends and forecasts to ensure the right material is available at the right time.
  • Partner with Sales and leadership to understand customer needs and market changes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve forecasting accuracy and reduce missed sales.
  • Collaborate with branch leadership and Corporate Purchasing to set inventory strategy.
  • Determine stock levels, product mix, and service targets that support business goals.
  • Help balance customer demand, cost control, and operational efficiency.
  • Manage replenishment to keep inventory optimized and aligned with demand.
  • Monitor and address slow-moving or excess inventory to minimize waste and cost.
  • Support key performance metrics like inventory turns and days on hand.
  • Oversee inventory control processes including cycle counts and physical inventories.
  • Ensure accuracy, organization, and efficiency across the warehouse.
  • Recommend improvements to product placement and material flow based on data.
