About The Position

The Brake Press Operator will work alongside the brake press team at QuikCut, forming a wide variety of products. This role requires the ability to shape, bend, and manipulate sheets of steel, aluminum, and stainless-steel plates. Operators must meet high expectations and standards, providing quality work while completing forming projects efficiently.

Requirements

  • Ability to efficiently read blueprints and drawings.
  • Ability to read and take measurements.
  • Ability to program the machine.
  • Ability to measure the final product for uniformity.
  • Ability to restock materials or stack completed materials.
  • Ability to perform routine maintenance and log it.
  • Ability to operate a brake press.
  • Ability to inspect products for quality compliance.
  • Ability to maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Prolonged periods of standing, pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying materials.
  • Must be able to lift 25 – 90 pounds at a time.

Responsibilities

  • Efficiently read blueprints and drawings from designers and engineers.
  • Read and take measurements to plan layout and procedures.
  • Program the machine to fit the design.
  • Measure the final product to ensure uniformity according to the blueprint.
  • Restock materials needing to be formed, or stack completed materials in the appropriate area.
  • Perform routine maintenance on the machine and log it.
  • Operate a brake press to manufacture tools, equipment, and other components from sheet metal or metal plates.
  • Inspect products, evaluating finished pieces for compliance with quality standards and specifications.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Other duties as assigned.
