About The Position

Arrow Machine and Fabrication Group is an engineering-focused solution provider of machined castings, fabrications, and assemblies, serving OEM customers across various industries. AOR Stratford, established 100 years ago, specializes in fabricating and assembling components for heavy truck, defense, and off-road equipment companies. The facility features fitting and welding, metal forming, saw cutting, painting, and assembly departments, manufacturing everything from small components to large structures. This role involves operating a brake press, setting up tooling, forming metal according to directives, and maintaining awareness of the fabrication sequence. The operator will program computerized machinery, ensure parts meet blueprint specifications, and perform preventative maintenance. A strong emphasis is placed on safety, quality, and teamwork.

Requirements

  • Highschool Education or Equivalent, or years of experience combined with education, designations, and certification.
  • Ability to read, write, and possess some advanced mathematical skills
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Knowledge of various industry-related hand tools
  • Experience working safely with lifting devices (Crane, Lift Truck, magnet, and other Lifting devices)
  • Ability to frequently lift to 30lbs
  • Excellent Communication Skills
  • Good situational awareness.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team; must have excellent problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Set up tooling
  • Using the appropriate gauge of metal required for the job, form the product according to the directives.
  • Maintain awareness and understanding of the fabrication sequence being performed and the steps involved in the process to completion.
  • Bring to the attention of the Lead Hand any positive ideas, improvements, or feedback related to improvements in the process.
  • Promote a team environment.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area to ensure employee safety and product efficiency.
  • Meet all timelines for products being fabricated.
  • Set up, prepare, and program the computerized machinery from scratch for “first articles”.
  • Follow all Occupational Health & Safety Regulations and Company Health & Safety Policies and Make equipment adjustments to the computerized system when required.
  • Ensure all parts comply with the blueprint specifications and quality standards. Parts that are out of specification or damaged are to be segregated, and quality assurance is to be notified.
  • Select the program that corresponds with the part number.
  • Select the specified dies that are listed on the traveller.
  • Ensure WIP tags and updated traveller move to the next operation as per the control of the product document.
  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on facility machinery
  • Complete daily maintenance and repair logs
  • Communicate and assist co-workers, operators, supervisors, and leadhands when required.
  • Maintain and secure work tools.
  • Clean and maintain the work area.
  • Ensure compliance with all Occupational Health & Safety Regulations and Organizational Health & Safety Policies and Procedures.
  • Follow all lockout procedures when doing repairs and adjustments.
  • Completion of ITP paperwork.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
