1st Shift Brake Press / Laser Operator
About The Position
The Brake Press / Laser Operator works alongside the brake press team at QuikCut, forming a wide variety of products. The role shapes, bends, and manipulates sheets and plates of steel, aluminum, and stainless steel while meeting QuikCut’s quality and performance standards and completing forming projects efficiently. The operator reads blueprints and drawings, takes measurements, programs and operates machinery to match designs, inspects finished products for compliance with specifications, handles materials, and performs routine machine maintenance. The position also requires keeping the work area clean and organized and may include other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Ability to efficiently read blueprints and drawings.
- Ability to read and take measurements to plan layouts and procedures.
- Ability to program machinery to fit a design.
- Ability to measure finished products against blueprints.
- Ability to perform the physical demands of prolonged standing, pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying materials.
- Ability to lift 25–90 pounds at a time.
Responsibilities
- Read blueprints and drawings from designers and engineers.
- Read and take measurements to plan layouts and procedures.
- Program the machine to fit the design.
- Measure finished products to ensure uniformity according to the blueprint.
- Restock materials that need forming or stack completed materials in the appropriate area.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and log it.
- Operate a brake press to manufacture tools, equipment, and other components from sheet metal or metal plates.
- Inspect finished products for compliance with quality standards and specifications.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
