About The Position

The Braider Operator is responsible for operating braiding machines to fabricate composite-reinforced tubes and components according to specifications. This position requires attention to detail, ability to troubleshoot machinery, and adherence to quality and safety standards within a production environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED or HSE).
  • 1+ years of experience operating braiding or textile machinery preferred.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 or other quality management systems.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Understanding of composite materials and fiber reinforcements is a plus.
  • Good mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Frequently required to reach and use hands and arms continuously.
  • Strong communication and team collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate braiding machines following detailed work instructions, routers, and job-specific specifications.
  • Load yarns, threads, or filaments into bobbins and carriers, ensuring correct material selection and tension settings.
  • Monitor machine operation for quality, proper alignment, and continuous feed; make adjustments as necessary.
  • Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of braided products using measuring tools.
  • Perform routine cleaning and basic maintenance of equipment.
  • Record production data and complete quality control documentation as required.
  • Communicate issues or abnormalities to supervisors or maintenance teams.
  • Follow all safety policies including PPE use, housekeeping standards, and chemical handling procedures.
  • Monitor and achieve established Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as production output, quality standards, efficiency, and safety compliance, ensuring continuous improvement and alignment with company goals.
  • Keep work area clean and organized to prevent safety hazards.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
