About The Position

American Heritage School is seeking a Boys High School Volleyball Head Coach who is passionate about volleyball and helping students grow physically, spiritually, socially, and intellectually. This is a faith-forming role at a mission-driven, faith-centered private school aligned with the teachings and values of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The coach leads the boys volleyball team and upholds the school’s mission and standards. Compensation is a seasonal stipend.

The successful candidate is expected to actively support, model, and teach principles consistent with the school’s mission and values. The coach integrates faith-based principles and moral reasoning into the athletics program where appropriate, serves as an example of Christian character and discipleship, supports the school’s spiritual mission through daily interactions, and responds thoughtfully to student questions about faith, values, and moral decision-making in a manner consistent with the school’s mission.

Candidates are expected to be professional in appearance and demeanor and willing and able to serve as ambassadors for the school’s Mission, Honor Code, and Diversity Statement on and off campus. Personal conduct, public statements, and online presence are expected to reflect and support the school’s religious mission and educational purpose. Employment requires alignment with and support of the school’s religious mission and values.

Requirements

• A background in volleyball.
• Experience with volleyball.
• Coaching experience.
• An enduring love of youth and a genuine passion for teaching and learning.
• Ability to use sports to build better disciples of Jesus Christ and Christian character.
• Commitment to actively participate in and contribute to a faith-based educational environment aligned with the teachings and values of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
• Strong communication and management skills.
• Alignment with and support of the school’s religious mission and values.

Responsibilities

• Lead the boys high school volleyball team as head coach.
• Uphold the mission and standards of American Heritage School.
• Integrate faith-based principles and moral reasoning into the athletics program where appropriate.
• Serve as an example of Christian character and discipleship to students.
• Support and uphold the spiritual mission of the school through daily interactions with students and colleagues.
• Respond thoughtfully to student questions related to faith, values, and moral decision-making in a manner consistent with the school’s mission.
