About The Position

The Shred-it Route Driver provides industry-leading service to clients by managing their confidential document destruction needs. The role transports supplies and materials in accordance with company policy and applicable laws, and includes loading and unloading the vehicle and securing cargo for transport. Drivers perform onsite and offsite document destruction, service assigned accounts and routes, and operate company equipment safely and reliably. This is a safety-sensitive position requiring compliance with safety rules and protocols; drug and alcohol testing may apply as part of ongoing employment requirements.

Requirements

Three years of experience, preferably in Box Truck driving and route management.
Valid Driver's License.

High School Diploma or GED (accredited).

Responsibilities

Perform onsite and offsite destruction of confidential information.
Complete pre-trip and post-trip checks and check in on the assigned truck before departure and at the end of the day; report maintenance issues to Transportation or the Dispatcher.
Operate company equipment safely and efficiently to minimize risk of injury and equipment damage.
Comply with local, provincial, and federal laws governing driver fitness and hours of service, and complete and maintain DOT logs when applicable.
Maintain security while emptying consoles or collection totes by retrieving all documents and securely locking consoles and containers.
Service accounts using a handheld device, ensuring consoles and containers are barcoded, locations are current, and types and quantities are accurate.
Manage assigned routes and collect and service customers’ confidential material in a timely and accurate manner.
Respond to customer problems and inquiries promptly and in the best interests of the customer and WMHS.
Load and unload the delivery vehicle and ensure cargo is secured before transport.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
