Box Truck Driver
About The Position
The Shred-it Route Driver provides service to clients and handles their document destruction needs. The role involves transporting supplies and materials in accordance with company policies and applicable laws, loading and unloading the vehicle, and ensuring cargo is secured. Drivers perform onsite and offsite destruction of confidential information, service assigned customer routes, and maintain the security and accuracy of collected materials and containers. The position operates in both indoor garage, shop, or gas plant conditions and outdoor conditions, including inclement weather, heat, and humidity. It is designated safety sensitive and requires compliance with safety rules and protocols. Drug and alcohol testing may be required during employment in accordance with government regulations and company policies.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience, preferably in driving box trucks and route management.
- Valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities
- Perform onsite and offsite destruction of confidential information.
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip checks and check in the assigned truck before leaving or closing for the day.
- Report maintenance issues to Transportation or the Dispatcher for follow-up.
- Operate company equipment safely and efficiently to minimize the risk of injury and equipment damage.
- Comply with applicable laws governing driver fitness and hours of service, and complete and maintain DOT logs when applicable.
- Maintain security when emptying consoles or collection totes by ensuring all documents are retrieved and containers are securely locked.
- Use a hand-held device to service accounts, ensuring containers are barcoded, location information is current, and container type and quantity are accurate.
- Manage assigned routes and ensure customers’ confidential material is collected and serviced accurately and on time.
- Respond to customer problems and inquiries promptly and in the best interests of the customer and WMHS.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
