About The Position

The Shred-it Route Driver provides service to clients and handles their document destruction needs. The role includes transporting supplies and materials in accordance with company policy and applicable laws, as well as loading and unloading the vehicle and securing cargo for transport. The driver performs onsite and offsite destruction of confidential information, services assigned customer routes, and helps ensure customer materials are collected and handled securely and accurately. The job operates both inside garage, shop, or gas plant conditions and outdoors, including in inclement weather, heat, and humidity. It is designated safety-sensitive and requires compliance with safety rules and protocols. Drug and alcohol testing may be required under government regulations and company policies.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience, preferably driving box trucks and managing routes.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Perform onsite and offsite destruction of confidential information.
• Perform pre- and post-trip checks and driver check-in on the assigned truck before leaving or closing for the day.
• Report maintenance issues to Transportation/Dispatch for follow-up.
• Operate company equipment safely and efficiently to minimize the risk of injury and equipment damage.
• Comply with applicable laws governing driver fitness and hours of service, and complete and maintain DOT logs when applicable.
• Maintain security when emptying consoles or collection totes by ensuring all documents are retrieved and containers are securely locked.
• Service accounts with a handheld device, ensuring consoles and containers are barcoded, locations are up to date, and type and quantity information is accurate.
• Manage assigned routes so customers’ confidential materials are collected and serviced in a timely and accurate manner.
• Respond to customer problems and inquiries expediently and in the best interest of the customer and WMHS.
• Perform other assigned duties and responsibilities.
• Load and unload the delivery vehicle and ensure cargo is safely secured before transport.
