About The Position

Parts Authority is a national distributor of automotive replacement parts, tools and equipment, and transmissions. The Box Truck Driver loads, transports, and delivers orders to customers and businesses, providing timely and courteous service. The role also includes checking orders and payments, maintaining delivery records, following routes and transportation regulations, conducting vehicle checks when applicable, and helping with store or warehouse duties as assigned. Drivers must meet company insurance requirements and be available to work weekends.

Requirements

Current, valid driver's license.
Able to work weekends.
At least 1 year of verifiable Class C bobtail truck driving experience.
Must meet company insurance requirements; drivers must be at least 21 years old.
Current valid automobile insurance with the driver's name on the policy.
Ability to lift, move, push, and pull up to 50 pounds; prolonged sitting is required. Auto body parts collision drivers must be able to lift 75 pounds.
Ability to manage, track, and account for money transactions and reconcile customer credit and debt balances.
Ability to use a tablet and/or mobile device for navigation, route optimization, tracking, and customer interface or signature capture.
Exceptional customer service and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with tact and diplomacy.
Ability to take and follow directions and work well with others as part of a team.
Knowledge of principles and methods for moving freight and materials.
Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies for effective compliance with local, state, and national laws.
Knowledge of applicable laws and EPA, DOT, and OSHA regulations.
Ability to identify potential safety risks in advance.
Must meet all stated minimum requirements, qualifications, and knowledge and abilities to be eligible to drive for Parts Authority.

Flexible schedule and ability to work overtime as needed preferred.
Previous delivery driving experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Load, transport, and deliver items to customers or businesses in a timely, friendly, and courteous manner.
Review orders before and after delivery to confirm completeness and correct charges, and ensure customer satisfaction.
Monitor gauges, dials, and other indicators to check that the bobtail truck is operating properly.
Follow dispatcher instructions, assigned routes, and schedules; use route navigation apps and alternative routes as needed to make timely deliveries.
Assist with loading and unloading items at customer locations without interfering with their business operations.
Provide customer service, answer questions, and handle complaints and concerns professionally.
Follow transportation laws and maintain a safe driving record.
Accept payments and prepare reports, including invoices and return forms; reconcile credits, debts, and money collected for deliveries.
When applicable, perform daily maintenance checks on the delivery vehicle and notify a manager of issues.
Assist with other store and warehouse duties, such as stocking and pulling parts, as assigned.
Perform other assigned duties.
Maintain and promote workplace safety.
Secure and transfer cash or other assets.
