Box Truck Driver
About The Position
Premier Packaging is seeking a Box Truck Driver to deliver corrugated materials to customers and other destinations. The driver loads and unloads materials, follows safety protocols, performs routine truck inspections and maintenance, keeps accurate delivery records, reports mechanical issues or incidents, and provides customer service. The role involves coordinating with warehouse associates, supervisors, and other team members. The position is based in Glendale Heights, Illinois. The regular schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., for 40 expected hours per week. Overtime is required when needed, and some weekend work is also required. Pay is $20.00–$25.50 per hour, paid biweekly.
Requirements
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Hold a valid driver’s license and medical certificate.
- Have a clean driving record.
- Have 2–3 years of previous experience as a box truck driver.
- Be able to lift up to 25 pounds alone and up to 50 pounds with assistance.
- Be able to load and unload corrugated materials onto and from the box truck.
- Have basic vehicle-maintenance knowledge and the ability to perform routine inspections.
- Be able to address customer inquiries or concerns.
- Be available for required overtime and some weekend work.
Responsibilities
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of materials to customers or other specified destinations.
- Load and unload corrugated materials onto and from the box truck.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines during transportation and delivery.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on the box truck.
- Promptly report mechanical issues, delays, or incidents.
- Maintain accurate delivery records, including confirmations and discrepancies.
- Provide excellent customer service and address customer inquiries or concerns.
- Communicate effectively with warehouse associates, supervisors, and other team members.
