About The Position

Parts Authority is a national distributor of automotive replacement parts, tools, equipment, and transmissions, with more than 300 locations. The Box Truck Driver delivers orders to customers and businesses, provides courteous customer service, and helps with store and warehouse duties as assigned. This role pays $19.00 per hour and requires weekend availability. Drivers may need to work overtime as needed.

Requirements

Current, valid driver’s license.
Able to work weekends.
At least 1 year of verifiable Class C bobtail truck driving experience.
Must meet company insurance requirements; drivers must be at least 21 years old.
Current valid automobile insurance with the driver’s name on the policy.
Ability to lift, move, push, and pull up to 50 pounds; prolonged sitting is required. Auto body parts collision drivers must be able to lift 75 pounds.
Ability to manage, track, and account for money transactions and reconcile customer credit and debt balances.
Ability to use a tablet and/or mobile device for navigation and route optimization, tracking, and customer interface or signature capture.
Exceptional customer service and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate effectively and professionally with tact and diplomacy.
Ability to take and follow directions and work well with others as part of a team.
Knowledge of principles and methods for moving freight and materials.
Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies for promoting effective operations.
Knowledge of applicable local, state, and national laws, EPA regulations, DOT regulations, and OSHA regulations.
Ability to identify potential safety risks in advance.
Must meet all stated minimum requirements, qualifications, and knowledge, skills, and abilities to be eligible to drive for Parts Authority.

Nice To Haves

Flexible schedule with the ability to work overtime as needed is preferred.
Previous delivery driving experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Load, transport, and deliver items to customers or businesses in a timely, friendly, and courteous manner.
Review orders before and after delivery to confirm completeness and correct charges and customer satisfaction.
Monitor gauges, dials, and other indicators to ensure the bobtail truck is operating properly.
Follow dispatcher directions, assigned routes, and time schedules; use navigation apps, alternative routes when necessary, and local-area knowledge to make timely deliveries.
Assist with loading and unloading items without disrupting operations at customers’ places of business.
Provide excellent customer service, answer questions, and handle complaints and concerns professionally.
Follow transportation laws and maintain a safe driving record.
Accept payments; prepare invoices and return forms; reconcile debts, credits, and money collected for deliveries; and prepare related reports.
When applicable, complete daily maintenance checks on the company delivery vehicle and report issues to a manager.
Assist with other store and warehouse duties, including stocking and parts pulling, as assigned.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Maintain and promote workplace safety.
Secure and transfer cash or other assets.
