About The Position

The Box Truck Driver safely operates a vehicle to pick up, transport, and deliver donated goods, processed merchandise, and other materials for Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona and its affiliated entities. The role requires adherence to safety policies, use of required personal protective equipment, careful handling of goods, and courteous interactions with customers. The shift starts at 1 p.m. The driver may provide basic direction to a Truck Helper and may be required to work overtime to complete assigned tasks.

Requirements

• High school education or equivalent.
• At least six months of intercity driving experience driving a 5-speed automatic transmission, 26-foot bobtail, or equivalent with air brakes.
• Ability to be trained and take direction.
• Ability to speak and read English proficiently.
• At least 21 years of age.
• Valid driver’s license and clean motor vehicle record.
• Medical Examiner’s Certificate.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen, where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a vehicle to collect, transport, and deliver donations, processed merchandise, and other materials as directed.
• Safeguard donated goods and assist with unloading merchandise while minimizing damage.
• Handle customer concerns courteously and resolve or escalate them when necessary.
• Follow established policies, procedures, and local, county, state, and federal laws.
• Perform daily vehicle maintenance checks.
• Meet daily work requirements while maintaining quality and quantity performance.
• Follow safety rules, use appropriate safety equipment, and immediately act on or report unsafe conditions and potential hazards.
• Unload vehicles and move items as required.
• Provide basic direction to a Truck Helper when applicable.
• Maintain regular and consistent in-person attendance.
