Box Room Associate - 2nd Shift

About The Position

The Box Room Associate assembles boxes by hand and/or using a box machine, unloads unmade boxes from trucks, and delivers materials to the box room. The role requires use and maintenance of personal protective equipment and compliance with company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines, and applicable local, state, and federal policies, laws, and regulations. The position involves handling box materials and glue, operating box-room equipment, performing lockout/tagout during specified tasks, and cleaning the work area at the end of the shift. It also requires working in wet, cold environments and around raw, live animal odors, with frequent physical activity.

Requirements

Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivate.
Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended shift hours.
Sound work ethic, honesty, and moral character.
Ability to work cooperatively with supervisors and coworkers.
Ability to follow directions and work in other departments as needed.
Ability to stand for up to 8 hours and lift up to 60 pounds.
Ability to work in wet, cold environments and around raw, live animal odors.
Frequently reach, bend, stoop, kneel, and crawl.
Wear personal protective equipment.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent.
Relevant poultry industry experience.
Basic math functions and skills.

Responsibilities

Move unmade box material from trucks using hydraulic hand trucks and carry stacks of box material to the box room.
Lift unmade box material and place it into the bracket of the box machine.
Retrieve glue from the supply room using a dolly.
Perform lockout/tagout when performing light maintenance, cleanup, and removing crushed boxes.
Put trash and crushed boxes in the trash vat.
Carry boxes to the wing belt and place lids on the lid track.
Take breaks five minutes early and return five minutes early to wipe condensation on the line.
Clean up and cover boxes in the box room at the end of the shift.
Follow departmental and company safety policies and programs, wear personal protective equipment, and comply with applicable company and regulatory requirements.
Perform other duties as assigned.
