About The Position

This role specializes in operating a Boring Mill machine used in making and maintaining jigs, fixtures, or gages. The position involves planning and performing operations that require complicated setups or a high degree of accuracy. The operator will determine proper feeds, speeds, tooling, and operation sequence, or select those prescribed in drawings, blueprints, or layouts using a variety of precision measuring instruments. Planning and laying out work according to blueprints, drawings, or other written or oral instructions is also a key part of the role.

Requirements

• Extensive knowledge of machine-shop practice usually acquired through considerable on-the-job training.
• High degree of mechanical aptitude.
• Design skills from prints and drawings.
• Ability to work independently.
