About The Position

This role involves piecing borders together, running the appropriate welt in them, and running zippers in backs, ottomans, and pillows to specification. The work schedule is Monday through Thursday, 6:30 am to 4:00 pm, with the possibility of some overtime.

Requirements

• Ability to read ticket and job notes for directions and specifications.
• Ability to thread/re-thread machinery.
• Ability to install rolls of zipper into machinery/attach zipper flies for zipping.
• Ability to exercise care and follow proper safety procedures.
• Good Communication Skills – oral and written.
• Ability to read and follow instructions.

Nice To Haves

• High School graduate helpful.
• 3+ years’ experience in production upholstery fabric sewing in an upholstered furniture manufacturing environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow standard operation procedures.
• Read ticket and job notes for directions and specifications before sewing.
• Operate zipper and/or border machines.
• Pull borders to remove excess welt cord.
• Thread/re-thread machinery.
• Install rolls of zipper into machinery/attach zipper flies for zipping.
• Exercise care and follow proper safety procedures to prevent injuries.
• May perform other duties/special or non-routine assignments as needed.
