About The Position

Under direct supervision of Course Materials Supervisor, this part-time regular position coordinates the timely submission of adoption forms, performs specialized purchasing of applicable course materials and ancillary items for assigned areas. The role involves maintaining existing inventory, using system reports for purchasing and inventory preparation, and engaging with course materials stakeholders. This includes meeting with faculty, maintaining contact with publishers and vendors, and serving as a customer service liaison. The position also requires obtaining course materials and merchandise through various sources, including online purchasing for price competitiveness, and maintaining a general understanding of DayOne Access procedures.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year customer service experience
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse campus community
  • Dependable, organized, detail-oriented team member
  • Ability to prioritize, handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the timely submission of adoption forms.
  • Perform specialized purchasing of applicable course materials and ancillary items for assigned areas.
  • Maintain existing inventory in assigned areas using system reports.
  • Aid in purchasing and cyclical inventory preparation using system reports.
  • Meet with faculty, maintain contact with publishers and vendors regarding pricing and availability of product.
  • Serve as customer service liaison in person, by phone and by email.
  • Attend training and conferences to keep up to date on industry.
  • Obtain course materials and merchandise through multiple sources including online purchasing for price competitiveness.
  • Research and determine appropriate selection, inventory, quantity, and pricing for assigned areas.
  • Use historical data to ensure adequate purchasing in areas without over or under buying.
  • Maintain buyback estimates for assigned areas.
  • Maintain general understanding of DayOne Access procedures to provide faculty and student support as needed.
