About The Position

A typical day in the life as an Bookkeeping Manager in Woodland Hills, CA might include the following: Work closely with clients to assess general bookkeeping needs. Manage client relationships by monitoring client needs and building value into professional service. Review the data entry of bank statements and other bookkeeping transactions for clients. Review reconciliations of client bank, credit card, and loan accounts. Review the month-end calculations, reconciliations, and journal entries for various balance sheet accounts. Provide an analysis of GL accounts. Ensure the timely completion of the month-end process for clients. Review reports, returns, and other documents as required, including: sales tax reports, year-end tax forms, monthly/quarterly/annual financial statements, and other reports required by clients. Review and distribute 1099, 1098, 1096 and other related tax forms. Provide mentoring and technical training for bookkeeping staff. Ensure timely and accurate performance on assigned projects. Maintain compliance with project budgets, turnaround times, and deadlines.

Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is required.
  • 7+ years of bookkeeping experience required, including experience managing staff.
  • Advanced knowledge of general ledger accounting and principals.
  • Ability to think innovatively to incorporate technology solutions and streamlined processes.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and meet deadlines by setting priorities with work projects.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and clients.
  • Proficient with computers, Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), QuickBooks, and using various software packages.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States now or in the future without visa sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • A valid Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) license or are working towards obtaining one of these licenses is preferred, but not required.
