About The Position

Seeking an experienced, independent Bookkeeper to manage a diverse and complex portfolio of client accounts. This role requires a professional who pairs technical accounting mastery—including full reconciliations, payroll, and fixed assets—with excellent organizational agility. Operating with minimal supervision, you will ensure high-density precision across all client ledger activities while upholding strict firm communication standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive, hands-on professional bookkeeping experience.
  • Intermediate to advanced understanding of core bookkeeping principles, internal controls, and standard corporate accounting practices.
  • Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO) and practical familiarity with Google Workspace.
  • Intuit Bookkeeping Certification
  • QBO Level 1 Certification
  • QBO Payroll Certification
  • Strong personal initiative with a proven ability to manage time effectively and work productively in an independent environment.
  • Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills, with the capacity to pivot between varied client portfolios and priorities in a fast-paced setting.
  • High-level written and verbal communication skills, delivering complex technical updates with professional nuance and clarity.

Responsibilities

  • Perform full monthly bank, credit card, and loan statement reconciliations, independently identifying and resolving complex transactional discrepancies.
  • Prepare and post standard and adjusting journal entries, maintain accurate fixed asset registers, and calculate depreciation schedules.
  • Manage client vendor payments, oversee accounts receivable aging analysis, and execute proactive collections workflows.
  • Handle regular payroll processing cycles, guarantee exact calculations, and assist with year-end and periodic payroll tax filings.
  • Maintain timely, precise records for multiple client accounts simultaneously, executing tasks independently with minimal oversight.
  • Provide quality assurance and review the transactional accounting entries of entry-level Client Data Specialists to maintain firm-wide accuracy.
  • Lead targeted historical clean-up efforts and specialized financial projects as assigned by leadership.
