About The Position

Carewest is seeking a passionate Booking Clerk to join their team. This role is responsible for scheduling relief/replacement staff and other key stakeholders across Carewest sites using ESP, Teams, and other assigned platforms. The successful candidate will be responsible for filling short and long-range shifts, liaising with other booking clerk team members and unit clerks, producing reports, and providing staffing forecasts. This position reports to the Executive Director, Workforce Optimization & Total Rewards.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 education.
  • A minimum of 1 year post-secondary training in secretarial arts or business administration.
  • Fluent with all Microsoft Office applications.
  • 1 - 2 years of business experience, preferably in timekeeping or data input.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Adherence to relevant privacy legislation and best practice including HIA, ATIA, POPA, and InfoCare Behaviours.
  • Ability to provide a suitable police records check and vulnerable sector screen (for new employees).
  • May need to provide immunization records for positions in certain environments.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with scheduling software.
  • Knowledge of the health care business such as rotations, vacations, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Scheduling relief/replacement staff and other key stakeholders across Carewest sites.
  • Using ESP, Teams, and other platforms to schedule staff in a timely manner.
  • Receiving and placing calls/emails to fill short and long range shifts.
  • Liaising with other booking clerk team members and unit clerks to ensure shifts are filled in a timely manner.
  • Producing reports on request.
  • Providing staffing forecasts ad hoc.
  • Performing other related duties as required.
