About The Position

The BOLT (Building Opportunities & Learning Together) Intern Program is Kinder Morgan’s elite summer internship program. This program offers the opportunity to spend a summer gaining hands-on experience in the energy industry while enhancing professional and interpersonal skills. Interns will participate in meaningful projects that support the company's vision of delivering energy to improve lives and create a better world. Kinder Morgan is one of North America's largest energy infrastructure companies, owning or operating approximately 79,000 miles of pipelines and 139 terminals. The company is a market leader in Natural Gas Pipelines, Products Pipelines, CO2, and Terminals, with a significant footprint of diversified and strategically located assets. The Natural Gas Pipelines business unit alone operates the largest natural gas network in North America, serving major U.S. consuming markets and transporting approximately 40 percent of the natural gas consumed in the U.S. This specific position is within the Natural Gas Pipelines business unit and involves coordinating daily scheduling activities across one or more of Kinder Morgan's Midstream pipeline assets. The Scheduling Representative acts as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries, addressing issues related to nominations, allocations, and imbalances, and overseeing the daily processing of commercial transportation activities.

Requirements

  • Candidate must be working towards a Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or a comparable discipline.
  • Entering either junior or senior year of college.
  • Senior students must be graduating in December 2027 or later to be eligible.
  • Work location will be Houston Headquarters based in Houston, TX.
  • Highly developed interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills appropriate in a dynamic open team office environment.
  • Ability to positively interface with customers personally via telephone in a highly efficient, knowledgeable, and professional manner.
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as work autonomously with limited direct supervision.
  • Ability to balance competing priorities; work within tight and changing deadlines and scope with a high degree of personal initiative.
  • Ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize workload in a fast-paced and frequently changing environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Solid analytical, conceptualization and problem-solving skills.
  • Maintain a regular, dependable attendance and high level of performance.
  • Must demonstrate accountability by managing daily activities effectively, maintaining required work schedules, exhibiting strong attention to detail, and complying with company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and resolve issues regarding natural gas transportation scheduling, allocations, and imbalances.
  • Provide excellent customer service and promptly resolve customer issues.
  • Process nominations and confirmations to ensure accurate volume information is available for Gas Control.
  • Work with producers, marketers, and downstream interconnects to manage/minimize imbalances.
  • Assist with processing allocations of physical flow.
  • Execute on daily commercial activities that require nominations.
  • Lead special projects and contribute to testing efforts of system enhancements.
  • Maintain positive relationships with pipelines, producers, marketers and internal business owners.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
